Since January 2008, solicitor advocates have also been entitled to wear wigs, but wear different gowns. Barristers once enjoyed a monopoly on appearances before the higher courts, but in Great Britain this has now been abolished, and solicitor advocates can generally appear for clients at trial. In this job, the person may draft and audit authoritative reports, interface with the customer as fundamental, plan proof, and by and large deal with the everyday organization of a claim. Also, the current Public Access decides give that advodates are not permitted to take on community customers except if doing so is in both the customer's eventual benefits and in light of a legitimate concern for equity.
